If I practise in more than one clinic, will I be covered? Or if I change clinic, would I need to reapply for the indemnity?
The indemnity covers your practice regardless of the location and number of your clinics.
Whenever claims by your patients were to occur, you will be covered according to the plan you had chosen for your class of service.
If you change your clinic you can update the address in the upcoming renewal.
What does 'with locum extensions' mean in the plan info?
Locum extensions mean to extend your policy to cover other locum doctors in the clinic.
What is the meaning of retroactive date?
The day of your purchase of this policy, you are continuously being covered from that day onwards until your next renewal.
If you renew your policy every year, your retroactive date remains. But if you didn't renew, the retroactive date will reset and you will lose the previous coverage.
I have retired and do not have a medical practice. I would like to retain my APC. Do I still need professional indemnity?
Yes. According to the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC), doctors who wish to retain their Annual Practising Certificate (APC) are still required to maintain professional indemnity coverage, even if they are retired or no longer actively practising.
Our policy includes a Run-Off Cover benefit, which provides continued protection for claims that may arise after you have permanently ceased or retired from practice. To maintain this protection indefinitely, you will need to submit the necessary supporting documents to convert your policy to Run-Off status.
